ARCH Board Members
Laurie Borden, Vice President is a resident of Weybridge, and has been on the Board since 2010. She works at Hospice Volunteer Services and as the ARCH Community Coordinator. She serves on the board of Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society.
Jackson (Jake) Burnham, is a resident of Cornwall and has been a member of the ARCH board since 2014. Jake teaches Engineering and Architecture Design at Patricia A. Hannaford Career Center in Middlebury, and was formerly a Project Engineer in Denver, CO.
Jon Crystal, of Waltham has been on the Board since 2013. He is retired from a career as a university and non-profit administrator, university lecturer and small business consultant. He also serves on the Board of Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity.
Rita Elder, a long time Bristol resident, joined the board in 2012. As a retired educator she has contributed energetically to a wide range of community activities including the Bristol Rescue Squad and the Conservation Commission. She was the founding director of the Five-Town Friends of the Arts and has served on a number of boards having to do with education and the arts.
Ann Hanson, Secretary resides in Bridport and has been on the Board since its inception. She has had a long career at Middlebury College working with students. She also served on many community boards including the Porter Medical Center board.
Daphne Diego, President of Addison is a founding member and current president of ARCH. An employee of Middlebury College, she also provides private end-of-life care. She is a long time Hospice volunteer with Hospice Volunteer Services and past school board member.
Peter Jensen, of Essex is a founding member and past president of ARCH. He is a retired teacher from Patricia A Hannaford Career Center, an active volunteer for Hospice Volunteer Services and has served on the boards of the United Way of Addison County and Hospice Volunteer Services.
Joel Miller, Treasurer a resident of Middlebury. After a career in the lumber and building materials business, Joel and his wife Carol retired to Addison. He joined the Board as a founding member and has served as Treasurer since 2009. He is a member of the Steering Committee of his congregation in Middlebury and was treasurer for a number of years. He is a volunteer driver for Amistad, providing transportation for immigrant dairy farm workers to area physicians.
Julie Vest resides in Bristol and joined the board in 2015. A 30 year employee of Porter Hospital, she presently serves as the Director of Laboratory Services and Chair of the Service Excellence Committee. The compassionate and supportive end-of-life experience she and her family shared during her father’s passage in one of the ARCH rooms inspired her to join the board.
